PCI SSC Qualified PIN Assessor Program Open for Applications
PCI SSC is now accepting applications for the Qualified PIN Assessor (QPA) Program. The QPA Program will enable security professionals to perform assessments using the PCI PIN Security Requirements and Testing Procedures (PCI PIN Security Standard). QPAs will be specifically trained in security controls that need to be validated as being in place to protect the transmission and processing of personal identification numbers (PINs).

PCI Security Standards Council to Host Inaugural India Data Security Industry Forum and Training in Delhi in 2019
The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) today announced it will host its first ever data security industry event in India, the 2019 India Forum, at the Hyatt Regency Delhi on 13 March. As part of this event, PCI SSC will also be conducting training for data security professionals to become Internal Security Assessors (ISA) or Qualified Security Assessors (QSA) in Delhi on 7-8 and 11-12 March 2019.

Brazil Gains More Representation in PCI Security Standards Council in 2019 with New Regional Engagement Board Members
Brazil has gained more representation in the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) with the 2019 PCI SSC Brazil Regional Engagement Board(REB) announced today. Introduced as a pilot initiative for 2018, the inaugural board’s one-year term has been extended through the end of 2019 and the roster increased to broaden payment card industry representation.

PCI Security Standards Council Publishes New Software Security Standards
Today the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) published new requirements for the secure design and development of modern payment software. The PCI Secure Software Standard and the PCI Secure Lifecycle (Secure SLC) Standard are part of a new PCI Software Security Framework, which includes a validation program for software vendors and their software products and a qualification program for assessors.

PCI Launches Payment Security Tool to Help Small Merchants
Small merchants continue to be a primary target for cybercriminals. According to the Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, 61% of breached organizations surveyed were small businesses. These highly-targeted businesses often do not have the technical knowledge needed to effectively manage security against these attacks- which is why today the PCI Security Standards Council is announcing the launch of updated educational resources and a new tool aimed at helping small business owners protect their customer's payment card data.

PCI Security Standards Council Announces New Timetable for Board of Advisors Nomination and Election Process
The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) announced today a new timetable for the PCI SSC Board of Advisors nomination and election process. The change is designed to provide more visibility and awareness of this participation opportunity with PCI SSC stakeholders and to accommodate more face-to-face engagement with the Board of Advisors. The nomination period for the 2019-2020 Board of Advisors will open on 17 September and run through 23 October 2018.

PCI Security Standards Council Publishes Guidelines on Cloud Computing
Meeting with acquirers and payment technology leaders this week at the TRANSACT conference, the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) announced new PCI SSC Cloud Computing Guidelines. Developed in collaboration with more than 100 global organizations representing banks, merchants, security assessors and technology vendors, the guidance identifies and addresses security challenges for different cloud architectures and models to help companies understand security considerations when implementing these solutions.
