PCI Council Collaborates with Industry to Speed Secure Chip Card Acceptance for Merchants
Wakefield, Mass – April 30, 2015 – Today the PCI Security Standards Council joined with the Payments Security Taskforce and EMV Migration Forum to launch the U.S. EMV VAR Qualification Program, a chip education curriculum and accreditation initiative that will help merchants and their partners securely implement chip card solutions.

PCI Council Publishes Revision to PCI Data Security Standard
WAKEFIELD, Mass., 15 April 2015 — Today, the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) published PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Version 3.1 and supporting guidance. The revision includes minor updates and clarifications, and addresses vulnerabilities within the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption protocol that can put payment data at risk.

PCI Council Publishes Tokenization Product Security Guidelines
SAN FRANCISCO, 2 April 2015— Meeting with acquirers and payment technology leaders today at the TRANSACT15 conference, the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) announced Tokenization Product Security Guidelines. Vendors and solution providers can use the guidance to develop tokenization products that help acquirers and merchants reduce storage of card data in their systems.
